When, and why, was hur launched?
Hur styling tools were brought to market in March 2021 when salons reopened after covid. Female founded, we felt like bigger brands had lost touch with the new age, current generation stylist.
Like no other haircare brand, hur is partnered with a local social enterprise whereby we offer work opportunity to young adults with learning difficulties, autism and complex needs.
We wanted to bring a great quality product and brand back to the market that represented real people, a brand that took greater responsibility for the way in which we do business. We're making much needed ethical, environmental and sustainable change within the haircare industry.
Do hur.tools suit all hair types?
Hur hair styling tools are suitable for all hair types thanks to the variable temperature control. Bespoke your styling experience and select a heat best suited to your hair type, texture, condition and style. For thin, fine or fragile hair we recommend dropping the temperature right down to 120°. If you have longer, thicker, more coarse hair we'd recommend 210°-230°. Always start on the lowest heat setting and build up to a heat suited to your hair. Ask your stylist or drop us a message for temperature guidance.
Why is the hur.iron slant different to other straighteners?
The hur.iron slant is the original, first-to-market hair straightener that has angled plates so that you can curl and straighten with the same tool. This 2-in-1 hybrid iron was designed with a 30° angle to make 'curling with a straightener' easier, and to get that always-on-trend beachy wave, lived in look. We changed the game, others followed.
Can I offer hur. to my clients in salon?
Absolutely. We have multiple different opportunities for salons, stylists, freelancers and educators to offer hur exclusively to their clients. We aim to be as flexible as possible with our customers. Please register your interest here.
Can I use styling tools on colour treated hair?
On newly coloured hair, heat can sometimes alter the hair colour depending on the colour brand or toner used. Over applying heat, and styling at the wrong temperature for your hair type can sometimes fade colour, or lose it's vibrancy. Always use a heat protector on your hair before styling. For colour treated hair, ask your stylist or the hur. team for a recommended temperature, and test a small section using the hur.tool before doing the entire hair.

We offer free next day shipping on all orders over £50 (UK mainland only). Our cut off time for next working day is 2PM Monday-Thursday.
