Will your locks last (another) lockdown? Do's & Dont's... keep reading. - hur.™

Buckle up guys and girls. Bozza is back to give our barnets the ride of their life for the second time this year. Que bad fringes and ugly roots, it's (another) national LOCK(S)DOWN.

If we have learnt anything during 2020, other than baking the ultimate lemon drizzle, it is how to master the art of an at home hair style or a DIY do. Thankfully, these days inside have taught us the importance of confidence-evoking, insta and zoom-worthy hair, oh and never taking our hair stylist for granted EVER again.

We've done a quick round up of some do's and dont's to make sure your locks last another lockdown. Meaning that, you can still get that banging insta pic when the lighting is good and not scare your work colleagues when you get back to the 9AM zoom calls:

1) BALAYAGE
If you've been lucky enough to secure an appointment in the hot seat before the looming announcement, DO get your stylist to touch up your colour 'balayage' style. A gradual, hand painted colouring technique that gives you months more grace when it comes to the dreaded root regrowth. A seamless colour blend into your natural root colour, you can get at least 4 or 5 months out of this.

2) FRINGE
The most important DON'T. Please please please, on behalf of all wounded hairstylists, cut yourself a fringe. The amount of casualties from this spontaneous scissor action has been traumatic. If you have recently had bangs cut, part centrally and let them grow out to frame your face. Check out @tabitha.willett on insta, her face framing fringe will give you some inspo.

3) LOB
Never underestimate the power of a lob. Short and powerful, low maintenance and style-able. If you've made it to the hot seat just in time, take some length of those dead-ends you've been meaning to get rid of for the last 6 months. Now is the time to go a little shorter, if you don't like it, you've got a few weeks inside to let it grow out.

3) BEACHY WAVES
A failsafe if you want to look like you've made that little bit more effort. Also an easy cover up for 2nd day styling when that blow dry has lost its impact. DO use a hur.iron slant to master.

@denizprocksch

4) MESSY BUN
Okay, get it wrong and you can look like you've just woken up from a 3 day hangover. But, style it low and you can get a more sophisticated look. Better still, part centrally and pull out any bits around your face and let them frame your facial features. For that Saturday (indoor) date night, or the Monday morning zoom meeting.
