Get The Look | The Slick Back
Wet look hair is definitely one of the go-to looks for the party season ahead and a must have look for your next night out. It's now a look seen across all the red carpets on the likes of Kaia Gerber, Kim Kardashian, Gigi Hadid... & the list could go on and on. The slick back look gives such a cool, edgy and empowering feel and look to any woman.
If Kim K can work the look, so can we! To some people it might look like you've just walked out the shower, but there's actually a lot more skill to it than that!
The question is how do we do it & how do you get your hair to stay in place... old school wet look gel? We think so!! There are a few different ways you can create this look, so here's the low down...
Start by choosing your gel, rub between your hands and smooth through the hair from front to back, ensuring every strand of hair is covered. Then comb through hair to get it all in place and finish by smoothing over with the palms of your hands, or run your fingers through to break up the comb lines.
Pomade's are also great at setting your hair and creating the illusion of a wet look. Again work together in the palms of your hands and smooth all through hair, ensuring every strand Is covered. Comb all hair backwards or centre/side part depending on which look you're going for.
Mousse is probably the number one product what comes to mind for doing a wet look, however we don't love the crispy ends so we'd recommend to potentially stay clear of mousse. If you don't mind the dry ends and crispy feel then dive straight in with this look, its sure to hold your hair in place.
